Locally owned and operated, the West Plains Stream is a monthly community newsmagazine published around the 15th of each month and officially launched in February of 2024. Focusing on local community coverage for Airway Heights, Medical Lake and the Fairchild Airforce Base, The West Plains Stream, shares stories about local businesses and non-profit organizations and covers the local high school sports teams, and city council actions.
Funded by its advertisers, The West Plains Stream has a monthly distribution of 11,000 copies, including just under 10,000 copies that will be direct mailed to residents of Fairchild Airforce Base, Airway Heights, and Medical Lake, with no subscription required and a number of free pickup locations across the community. Making the publication a perfect way to get the word out about current events and business promotions in the area.
About the Publishers
Publishers Ben and Danica Wick began their publishing journey in 2016 in order to keep local journalism alive establishing Wick Enterprizes LLC with the mission of “honoring local communities and encouraging citizen involvement” and acquired The Liberty Lake Splash and Greater Spokane Valley Current from Peridot Publishing.
Today Wick Enterprizes publishes three sister publications, The Liberty Lake Splash, The Greater Spokane Valley Current, and The West Plains Stream.
Sister Publications
The Liberty Lake Splash was the original publication that was founded in 1999 initially founded at a weekly paper providing hyper local sources of news and information for the Liberty Lake community. It has a similar distribution model to the Stream but with 10,000 copies distributed each month and over 7,000 direct mailed.
The Greater Spokane Valley Current was founded in 2012 as a monthly newsmagazine for the Spokane Valley community. While this community is the largest The Current distributes 25,000 copies each month with around 19,000 direct mailed to the core of the Spokane Valley Community.
